The Park in 1957 wag finally renamed as Corbett National Park in honour & memory of the Late. Jim Corbett had in the meantime became world famous through his wildlife dedication.
The elevation of the park ranges between 400 Mtrs. & 1210 Mtrs., the multipurpose hydel dam at Kalagarh lies at the Southwestern fringe of Corbett. The Lake inside with its scenic charm, has added to the beauty of the park. 110 Species of Trees, 51 Splices of Shrubs & over 33 Splices Bamboo are founded here. Over 50 mammals, 580 Bird & 25 Reptile Species have been listed In the of Corbett.
Corbett is known heaven for Tigers, largely owing to the success of World Wild Foundation funded project - Tiger that was launch on 1 st April 1973. The Season
The Park is open from November, but from November to January the visibility is poor, due to the dense undergrowth, the weather is cold & only the Tigers & Crocodiles are to be seen. From March to June all the wildlife come out of hibernation or their lairs, to welcome the viewer. The weather is very pleasant and visibility is excellent. The Park is closed from June to October 31.
