Kauri at an altitude of 3,640 metres is a well-known name to those interested in trekking and it is a favorite camping spot in summer and is approached through a narrow goat trek route.

At Kuari, one is enraptured by the extensive panoramic views of the peerless Himalayas to the north-east, and the vast stretches of verdant valleys to the south-east. Nanda Devi, Doonagiri, Bethatoli, Hathi Parbat, Devasthan, etc are some of the glorious peaks to be seep. On a clear day the Nanda Devi Santuary is visible.

Gailgarh, 5 km from Kuari, a little gem set in wonderful natural surroundings is a good point to radiate out from, to other interesting places.

About 6 km south-east of Gailgarh is the snow-covered peak, Pangarchulia (5,183 metres). This peak is easily scaled with normal trekking gear, and the town of Badrinath, and several show covered peaks and bugyals can be seen from its summit in all their majesty.

Six kilometres east of Gailgarh (3,354 metres) is a little hamlet called Delisera. It is a vast expanse of flat land with natural terraced slopes through which a small stream ripples. The terraced slopes appear to be shaped by man and the local villagers believe they may have been cultivated many, many year ago. Sera, in the local dialect, means the rice-fields hence the name Delisera. During late June, the entire land is an exquisite tapestry of coloured flowers.

North-east of Gailgarh, about 6 km is a lovely lake, Bore Kund, which has a perimeter of almost 2 km. This lake is reputed to be very deep and is surrounded by a wealth of dense forests.

The treks to the Kuari Pass complex can be organised from Ramni (10 km from Ghat), Joshimath and Tapovan. The trek route, from Ramni is the longest. The trek passes through the picturesque area around Ramni, then trails along to Sarkot and Sanatoli where grand and expansive views of the Himalayas can be seen. At times the going can really by strenuous especially in the sections Ramni to Domabhiti (2,296m) to Kuari.

Ramni to Kuari trek route is- also known as Cuzon Road, because Lord Curzon, a keen trekking enthusiast, trekked from Gwaldam to Ramni via Jhenjipani, Domabhiti.
